THE SEEDS

The cotton is grown, harvested and sorted in Western Turkey,
We collaborate with Egeniz, a factory that already in the early 1990s started to cultivate organic dried fruits, cotton and
cereals production as well as garment manufacturing from organic cotton.

They are trully commited to influence a change in the society towards a more sustainable agriculture and
we are very proud to have them as a very important part of our project.
Seeds and plants are free from genetic engineering and pests are controlled by other insects.

There are non-transgenic seeds and neither intermediaries in the exploitation or production process,
which is 100% reliable: our growers separate the seeds themselves.
CULTIVATION and SPUN TO YARNS

The cultivation of our cotton is free of pesticides and fertilizers.
All process is done sustainable and fair to all parts involved.
It is also in Western Turkey where the cotton is spun into yarns.
The agricultural program is GOTS certified who ensure that all agricultural practices are
in accordance with European Union Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91 on production of agricultural products.
All processes from cotton to the final product are followed in accordance with the rules of
Sustainable Textile Standards of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards)

It represents our commitment of caring as much as possible for people, the environment and
all the farmers involved in growing and harvesting the organic cotton we used.
FROM YARNS TO FABRICS. FROM FABRICS TO TABLE LINEN
​
All HAZIA fabrics include OrganicCottonColours stamp which guarantee that you are getting a product that complies with the very highest quality
requirements in the textile industry at every phase of the production process, starting with the seeds.
From Turkey the yarns are sent to our small scale factory in Portugal.
​
Here they are colored with GOTS certified dyes, which are completely free of hazardous chemicals, and woven into our fabrics.
After many months of testing, trying and failing, we finally found the perfect textile for our brand in terms of quality and texture,
which makes our products really personal and unique.
Not use wet chemical processes on our products. Just a simple washing process.
The fabrics are finally sent to OCC manufacture factory located in the northeast of Spain. They have more than 25 years of experience in working
with organic cotton projects and guarantee the quality in our fabrication process.
Inside their factories, the most knowledgeable craftsmen and women sew and cut the final products keeping the highest standards.

OCC has GOTS certification (Global Organic Textile Standard) for every phase of the process: spinning, weaving, manufacture
and distribution which ensures the finest quality of all HAZIA fabrics.

Though our partnership with OCC we are collaborating with 150 farmers in Brazil.
